One of the best wreck dives in the world the USAT liberty located in Tulamben Indonesia which is a shore dive. I am doing a PADI Divemaster course here as the diving is excellent and it is also cheap. We are doing 2 dives a day food lodging diving all for less than $40 a day ths includes a motorbike rental tanks and weights porter fees and a nice bungalow 100 meters from the ocean.
Now we see everyday while we are up here nearly 200 divers a day and most of the them are comming from over two hours away by bus each way and for the privillage of getting up early driving with mad men and getting to the dive site at the exact same time as 100 other divers you will pay right around $100 USD. the whole time that you are at the dive site including lunch you are being herded as the dive leaders are trying to keep the day to under 10 hours which is realisticly how much time you will spen to do two dives compared to us.
We get up around 8 have a cup od coffee walk to the dive site maybe 6 to 10 divers around gear up get in have the wreck pretty much to our selves then when we are done with our first dive we watch as all the divers come and flood the site. After a safety stop of 90 min we will hop in again at the drop off again very few divers and when we are done it will be right around lunch time we will eat lunch take a nap and relax if we like we can do a evening dive or a night dive and again we will have the wreck pretty much to ourselves. We pay the least and get the most diving for our dollars and we get the best diving as well.
