I have come to the Philippines thinking that it will be reasonable and what I am finding is that like in Cambodia if the services are Filipino centric then the costs are OK if it is anything that a western would need then expect to pay dearly for it as it will not be cheap!
Internet was always something that use to drive me absolutely mad in Cambodia as they promise the moon and then moon you when you ask that they deliver half of what they promised. The biggest problem is that they do not add on to the service even when it becomes absolutely over subscribed then when the next service comes on the process starts all over again.
here in Cebu I have Smart which was not very on my part as the service is advertised at 7.2 MBS most places that is megabytes here it is mega bits what is the difference you ask about 8 times slower. now this was not a accident it was planned and the thing is in a 24 hour period you might if you are lucky get 10 min out of the whole day at the advertised speed.and there is not a damn thing that you can do to get them to anything beyond what they want to give you that is it Tough don't like it you can always leave so I went and it is only going to cost me $40 to leave early and change my cheap flight to Bangkok and that is exactly what I am going to do.
